game review: battlefield 2042.
Battlefield: 2042
A review:
Battlefield: 2042 was a first-person shooter published in 2021 by Electronic Arts and developed by DICE. It was heavily criticized by fans, me included, and received mixed reviews by critics.
Gameplay:
I believe that many necessary features from previous installments were needlessly omitted such as classes and certain game modes. The weapon selection was also lackluster, and the gadgets were either uninteresting, game breaking or just useless. Movement was nothing to write home about either.
Technical issues:
2042 was riddled with bugs and glitches from launch, and I feel DICE has not done enough to effectively fix them. These bugs vary wildly, from launching you multiple feet in the air to phasing you through objects, and many were simply annoying, but they all came together to bring down what could be a good shooter.
Sound design and voice lines:
<span class="NormalTextRun SCXW81292691 BCX0" <the="" sounds="" in="" this="" game="" feel="" flat="" and="" <="" span="">the sounds in the game feel flat and boring, and the voice lines were even worse, as the operators seemed perfectly fine losing limbs and friends, making “funny” quips and jokes totally ignoring the hell they just went through.</span>
Conclusion:
Overall, a combination of poor gameplay, numerous horrendous glitches and soulless, unfeeling character voice lines and flat sound effects demolish what could have been a worthy successor to battlefield 4, a much better game. 1.5/10.
